It’s New Zealand’s northern most region and is home to a number of significant New Zealand visitor experiences such as the Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, 90 Mile Beach, Tane Mahuta Kauri Tree, The Poor Knights Islands and Waitangi ‘Birthplace of the Nation’.

Kaikōura
There are few places like Kaikōura. The towering snow-clad mountains known as the Seaward Kaikōura’s provide a stunning backdrop over the town centre which extends out to the Kaikōura Peninsula, where the waves of the Pacific ocean roll in.
These mountains rise to heights of 2600m and the undersea canyon plunges to depths of over 1200m very close to shore, these two factors alone make Kaikōura incredibly unique. There are not many places where you can be on top of a snow-capped mountain in the morning, whale watching or dolphin swimming in the afternoon and then taking in a gorgeous sunset while feasting upon fresh seafood from the very ocean you are sitting beside.
This place captivates all who visit, you can’t help but be in awe of nature’s wonders both on land and at sea.
Kaikōura is located on the East Coast of the South Island. Ōtautahi Christchurch is 2.5 hours’ drive to the south of Kaikōura and Picton is 2hrs to the north. Whether self-driving, taking the Coastal Pacific train or travelling on a bus between destinations, a stop off in Kaikōura will not disappoint.

Ōtepoti Dunedin
Discover Dunedin, the wildlife and heritage capital of New Zealand.
Tick a couple of things off your bucket list – walk up the world's steepest street and visit the only mainland breeding colony of the Northern royal albatross. There are unrivalled encounters with penguins, sea lions and albatross, best experienced with a guide, whether by boat, off road vehicle or on foot.
A well- preserved Victorian and Edwardian city; visit our castle, museums and historic home. You will find boutiques, bars and restaurants in revived heritage buildings alongside iconic architectural marvels.
By night you can view penguins emerging from the sea and returning to their burrows, stargazing with Indigenous storytelling, and local flavours from craft brewers & distillers.
Drive from Christchurch to Tekapo and Aoraki (Mt Cook), then take the road less travelled through the Waitaki Valley to Dunedin via the Moeraki Boulders.
Queenstown and Te Anau, the gateway to Milford Sound, are just a 3.5 hour scenic drive from Dunedin.
