The countdown to trenz 2025 - 50 days to go!
With just 50 days until the curtain rises on TRENZ 2025 the industry is getting ready to host hundreds of international travel buyers from 6-8 May in Rotorua.
As Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest international tourism business event, TRENZ plays a key role in connecting operators with international buyers, showcasing some of the best visitor experiences the country has to offer to entice more people to visit.
Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram says the economic value of TRENZ cannot be understated, with the business done critical to keeping our tourism industry connected to the world. “TRENZ provides the opportunity for industry leaders and representatives to gather in person with the conversations had delivering a range of positive outcomes for our industry and the wider economy,” says Ms Ingram.
74 percent of sellers that attended TRENZ 2024 expected to generate more than $50,000 in turnover from attending. Of these, 58 percent expected to generate more than $100,000 of turnover.
“We are an industry of potential - when tourism does well it creates vibrancy in our communities, enables jobs, supports our conservation efforts and the New Zealand economy,” she says.
“And we know that there is scope for the industry to contribute further. We can’t wait to see what this year’s event delivers.”
Approximately 1,200 delegates will attend the two-and-a-half-day programme, with over 300 international trade buyers from 25 countries and 40 domestic buyers registered to attend. Buyers will meet with hundreds of operators representing accommodation, transport, adventure and activities, as well as New Zealand cultural, natural and wellness experiences.
TRENZ is organised by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) on behalf of the Tourism Industry New Zealand Trust (TINZT) with the support of Air New Zealand, Tourism New Zealand, RotoruaNZ, Christchurch Airport, Auckland Airport, Tranzit, Sudima, Millenium Hotels, EVT – Rydges, AccorHotels.
