Host region

In 2018, TRENZ will be hosted in Dunedin, New Zealand, in partnership with Southland and Waitaki. This is the first time TRENZ will be held in Dunedin, so it is not to be missed!

The rugged coastline is home to unique wildlife while the great outdoors offers a natural playground with a myriad of activities available. Immerse yourself in our rich legacy of heritage buildings in our towns and cities or enjoy our fresh products of the land and sea at festivals, local farmers market, cafes, restaurants, bars, and vineyards. Media Package


Qualifying Media will receive four nights of accommodation with our Official Accommodation Providers, checking in Monday 7 May and checking out Friday 11 May 2018.


Air New Zealand, Premier Sponsor of TRENZ will provide international Economy flights to New Zealand for selected Media. Qualifying Media will receive booking information, options to upgrade and full terms and conditions from your local Tourism New Zealand representative.

Key Dates & Information

For those of you joining us in 2018, there are plenty of key dates to be aware of leading up to the big event. Here are some of the most important to mark in your calendar as the countdown to TRENZ begins.

5 February 2018 Media applications open

7 February 2018: My TRENZ Zone live

N.B. All Media delegates receive access to My TRENZ Zone upon confirmation of attendance

8 February 2018: Appointment requests open (request the Sellers you want to meet with)

2 March 2018: Media applications close

N.B. Late applications will be considered.

Mid-March 2018: Media Activity Afternoon registration opens in My TRENZ Zone

Late March 2018: Accommodation booking confirmation available in My TRENZ Zone

28 March 2018: Appointment requests close

5 April 2018: Appointment scheduling open (review your appointment schedule and fill any remaining meeting spaces)

23 April 2018: Delegates can no longer cancel appointments from this date

N.B. You can continue to schedule appointments up until and throughout TRENZ until the last appointment on 10 May 2018.

TRENZ 2018 will take place from Monday 7 May until Thursday 10 May.


The TRENZ programme is an interactive mix of one-on-one business meetings, industry sessions, presentations and networking functions along with a range of activities and tours to experience. Please note the Media Briefing programme is under development so check back regularly to see who will be presenting each morning.

A comprehensive media programme run by Tourism Industry Aotearoa with support from Tourism New Zealand

Industry sessions with the Media Programme presentations

Networking functions including Welcome Function, TRENZ Bar, Farewell Function and TRENZ Media Function
